Stewardship

Deb Ervin, Dana Frye

God has given us many gifts. Everything we have is a gift from God. Along with these gifts comes responsibility for their appropriate use. What God gives us is ours completely; we possess the gifts to use as we see fit. But we can only really possess something if we dare to give it away. Otherwise, it possesses us. If I cannot dare to give away my time, I am possessed by time. If I cannot dare to give up my children, I am their possession and the fulfillment of my life is dependent upon them. If I cannot dare to offer the money that is under my control, it possesses me; I do not possess it. The nature of freedom is to use responsibly what is yours to discover the extent to which you can give away the sum total of yourself and your possessions.

We need look no further than Jesus Christ for an example; he possessed his life to such a full extent that he was able to offer it completely.

Our parish continues to grow and each one of us is a vital part of our community of faith. Join with us in pledging to St. Michael's; our time and our gifts are important to God and to each other.
